# Utility Direction

$VALEO is positioned as an ecosystem token intended to support Valeo’s long-term network effects. The underlying product is not a meme-only project; it is a Solana-native consumer application with real wallet functionality and a growing user base.

The token is expected to play a role in:

* ecosystem alignment
* future incentives
* long-term platform participation
* Cashback for card programs
* Unlock in-app features

However, Valeo’s business model is not dependent on token speculation. The core product can generate revenue from payments, card products, and services regardless of token price action.

This is important for long-term sustainability: tokens can enhance a platform, but the platform should not require token hype to survive.
